    JOB OVERVIEW


    The Regional Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for supporting the nursing teams at all Horizon sites in the delivery of resident care and services. This role will support nursing leadership teams to maximize care and service revenues, deliver high quality care and services, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves supporting resident care teams by providing education, coaching, on-boarding of new nursing leaders, support for the implementation of policies and procedures, supporting positive interactions between residents and team members, and the delivery of caring and compassionate services.


    LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION


    1. Leadership and supervision:


    • Lead and supervise care teams in several retirement residences in the region.
    • Provide guidance, training and mentoring to nursing staff and caregivers.
    • Monitor performance and conduct performance appraisals for managers.
    • Ensure that staffing levels are adequate and that caregivers are well trained.

    2. Resident care management:


    • Support the Nurse/Assistant Nurse team to ensure resident care plans are current, meet individual resident needs and preferences.
    • Ensure residents receive appropriate, timely, empathetic and caring care based on their health status.
    • Implement and monitor health and wellness programs to promote resident well-being and satisfaction.
    • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of resident care and health status in accordance with professional rules.

    3. Quality assurance and compliance:


    • Support site management to comply with local, departmental and professional regulations related to resident care and healthcare practices.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments of care practices to ensure compliance with quarterly reviews, and verify that billing is correct for services rendered.
    • Work with residences to ensure compliance with certification standards.
    • PCI : Provide supervision and support in daily practices and during an outbreak, ensure protocols are implemented and followed.

    4. Operational management:


    • Collaborate with residence managers and head office to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including budget management, scheduling and resource allocation.
    • Monitor and manage the efficient use of care-related resources, including medical supplies, equipment and staff time.
    • Develop and implement best practices to improve efficiency.

    5. Family and community relations:


    • Support the residence team in resolving conflicts with families.
    • Foster strong relationships with community partners, healthcare providers and external stakeholders.

    6. Staff development and training:


    • Oversee the professional development and ongoing training of staff members, ensuring they remain up to date with industry standards, best practices and regulations.
    • Organize training sessions on key topics such as dementia care, infection control and certification updates.

    7. Crisis management:


    • Provide advice and support during emergencies, health crises or incidents involving residents or staff.
    • Ensure that protocols are followed in critical situations to maintain the safety of residents and staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS


    Requirements:


    • Be a member of the OIIQ or OIIAQ
    • Have held a similar position in Quebec for at least 1 year.
    • Proficiency in Dec. 2022 certification
    • Master risk management
    • Master infection control
    • Fluency in spoken and written French and English

    Conditions:


    • 40h/week from Monday to Friday
    • Available in case of emergency (on-call)
    • Generous cell phone allowance
